Recap From Our 2nd Annual Elevate Live with Keynote Speaker, Nick Vujicic
What an unbelievably amazing night last Tuesday was at our 2nd Annual Elevate Live event! It’s funny now to think back to when Dennis first pitched the idea—big, bold, and audacious. We all laughed a little, knowing it was huge… but we were ALL in from day one! We had hurdles, we had challenges, but through it all we saw God’s hand move in powerful ways.
What made it so special is that this wasn’t a real estate event. We just happened to be the ones who wanted to bring the vision to life. We had hundreds of people from all walks of life and connections to our team, all gathered with one simple goal: to share time together and be inspired. It reminded each of us why we love doing what we do and what our mission truly is—to create spaces and moments where people can experience hope and encouragement.
Hearing Nick Vujicic speak was such a blessing. He’s one of the kindest and most gracious people I’ve ever met. I came away with pages of notes, but there were three things he said that planted deep seeds in me—seeds I’ve been reflecting on ever since.
1. “You can count the seeds in an apple, but you cannot count how many apples come from a seed.”
Nick has spoken in 78 countries, to millions of people—but the impact of those seeds can’t be measured. It made me think about the people in my own life who planted seeds of faith, kindness, and encouragement that I’m only now seeing the fruit of. It reminded me to live with what Nick calls an “attitude of gratitude.”
2. “Sure, do I talk to my children about their weaknesses? Sure… but I zone in on their strengths.”
As a dad, this one hit home. It made me stop and ask myself—am I more focused on correcting my son’s challenges, or am I nurturing his strengths and celebrating where he thrives?
3. Nick and his wife ask each other three check-in questions:
- What am I doing that you don’t like?
What’s something I’m not doing that you wish I would do?
What’s something I do that you want me to continue?
Those questions are bold. They made me wonder how my own wife of 15 years would answer… and how I might answer them about my own life. It’s a humbling way to reflect on how we grow, love, and serve others well.
As I think about this week, I keep coming back to those little moments—the seeds—that God plants through people, conversations, and experiences like Elevate Live. We may never see how far the ripple goes, but we can keep sowing seeds of gratitude wherever we are.
💠What about you?
If you were there, what moment stuck with you the most?
If you missed it, but have heard Nick before, what seed of gratitude has he planted in you?
